Testimonials
what our partners and listeners have to say about the show

Heather and Martin’s enthusiasm for music came across from the moment I first met them to talk about a forthcoming Wycombe Sinfonia concert and it became apparent during my on-air interview that they have a keen interest in classical music and wish to convey this to their listeners via their programmes.

Their knowledge of the repertoire enables them to choose pieces for their programmes which are likely to appeal to newcomers to classical music but also interest existing classical fans.  Explaining enough to engage the listener’s interest, but not too much to put them off, they guide the listeners through their selection of interesting works creating a pleasing and fruitful atmosphere throughout the programme.

They are committed to encouraging and assisting music groups in the area by advertising local concerts on their programmes.

Long may our association continue.

John Dunnett – Conductor - Wycombe Sinfonia

Heather and Martin’s show is an incredible platform where they not only share a brilliant selection of orchestral music, with insights and fun facts, but also provide an invaluable service to the local community through their interviews and promotions of live music.

Classics Count fuels enthusiasm for orchestral music and makes it accessible to many. I loved being a guest on the programme, sharing my experience, but most of all hearing about fellow musicians and how everyone has their own special relationship with music in all its forms. Always looking forward to the next show!

Sofia Piccoli- flutist and music teacher

I discovered Classics Count through my daughter, Sofia, who has been interviewed a few times by Heather and Martin. Since then I try never to miss an episode.

I like how Heather and Martin introduce the pieces with interesting insights, expressions and vocabulary I can use in my lessons. I also love listening to the interviews and especially how each guest approached music and how it became part of their lives.

I find this part of the show a great way to show my students different ways they can fulfil their dreams whether they are music related or not.

I feel very special for having received a special dedication on one episode, thank you!

Camilla Piccoli – Vicenza, Italy – High School English teacher

I had the pleasure of appearing as a guest on Classics Count, where I was warmly welcomed by hosts Martin and Heather. Their insightful questions about my musical journey and career made for an engaging conversation, and they provided a wonderful platform for me to share my passion for music and the violin. Martin and Heather's enthusiasm and professionalism created an atmosphere that truly celebrated classical music. I'm grateful for the opportunity to connect with their dedicated audience and look forward to future collaborations with Classics Count.

Laure Chan - Concert Violinist

Heather and Martin from ‘Wycombe Sound 106.6’ run a fun, informative radio show every Sunday called ‘Classics Count’.

We at Audentior Symphony Orchestra greatly appreciate their support of us, as do all other orchestras in the area.

Before our concerts, they always interview members of our orchestra on the show, and play extracts from works we are playing. They actively promote all local performances on their radio show, and with regard to our own orchestra, make themselves available at our concerts, as volunteers in the box office. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing support, and cannot recommend their weekly radio show highly enough. It plays great music, contains interviews with conductors, orchestral players and soloists, and promotes local live music. It is a gem of a show!

John Brennan - Conductor - Audentior Symphony Orchestra

Classics Count made me feel so at home and at ease. It was so lovely to go in and talk to them about my composition, and I couldn’t recommend them enough as a radio show to listen to!

Katherine Iverson-Vandy - Composer and musician - Durham

Such a great show! The warm voices of Heather and Martin give me the sense that I am among friends who make excellent music choices, a lovely way to enjoy Sunday morning indeed!

Classics Count thoughtfully selects classical music that relaxes, inspires, and/or soothes the soul: here is music that resonates on several different levels.

As a listener, I can appreciate the delight afforded by the classics half a world away, and I commend the Classics Count team for their consistently thoughtful selections.

Denise, Savannah, Georgia, USA

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Martin and Heather from Classics Count to promote a Wycombe Sinfonia Orchestra concert. Sharing the interview link and having our concert details featured on their events page significantly boosted our publicity and ticket sales.
Classics Count not only featured our concert repertoire in their programs but also included our event on their webpage. This collaboration promoted our performances to a wider local classical audience. We are truly grateful for their support.

Local classical music groups should consider using Classics Count to enhance their publicity!
